WHAT IS SQUARE DANCING?

Square Dancing is an American social dance which involves four couples in a square formation. All the steps or "calls" are given by a caller who guides each dancer through a "tip" or dance. In short: FUN!

HOW OFTEN DOES GREENE CLOVERLEAFS SQUARE DANCE CLUB MEET?

We hold classes once a week in the Fall-Winter Semester and Winter-Spring Semester. Our dances are held once a month, and our neighbor clubs host dances frequently as well.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

Upon graduation from our Basic Mainstream Class you will have the option to become and official member of the Greene County Cloverleafs.

WHAT DOES CLUB MEMBERSHIP ENTAIL?

Club members help to host dances and serve as "angels"--experienced dancers who guide new students--during class.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAINSTREAM AND PLUS SQUARE DANCING?

Mainstream square dancing refers to the first 69 basic steps any dancer will learn. Plus square dancing takes you into advanced steps, often where all couples in a square move at once. Most dances will provide both Mainsteam and Plus dances.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE A PARTNER?

Nope!
